This page describes outcomes of my studies of media culture in Weimar and Malmö. The media environment of the Day-Trader
Analysis and reflection of the interface and actions of day-traders, who participate in the world-wide transaction of the stock exchanges by the means of the computer in a very fast manner and thus illustrate the human-computer-relation on the electronic markets. A Comic Conflict - The Depiction of the Situation in "Palestine"
Semiotical analysis and comments on the comic book "Palestine" by Joe Sacco, that deals with a conflict in a very unconventional manner. Final Essay to the Course "Media, War and Resistance" at Malmö Högskola.


The Female and Computer Games
Final exam paper to the course "Research in Media and Culture Studies" at Malmö Högskola. The assignemt was to explore and examine a self chosen field. This Text deals with the mutual relation of Woman and Girls towards computer and video games: Female's use of games and games' depiction of the female.



Spielregeln des Wissenschaftsbetriebs [Rules Of Playing Science]
Essay that attempts to approach the field of scientific production through the glasses of a game observant. Certain repeating mechanisms and institutions - the rules of the game - and their application in an example are pointed out. Copy&Paste - Play it again, Tony
Result of the Research Project "Lesen, Schreiben, Rechnen" at Bauhaus University Weimar. The essay approaches one of the most common cultural technique of digital writing - copy&paste. Hence implications for the understanding of text, author, reading and writing are discussed.


Zeit bei Heidegger und Bergson
[Time in Heidegger's and Bergson's Philosophy]

A work produced in cooperation with Marco Krannich that examines and compares as far as possible the understandings and implications in the notions of time in two fundamental philosophical approaches of the 20. century. Final essay of the course "Bergsonismus", Bauhaus University Weimar.



Die Fernbedienung als Selektionsinstrument [The Remote Control as an Instrument of Selection]
This text argues with issues concerning the developement and integration of the remote control in the every-day-life of the TV consumer with focus on the resulting selection behaviour. Final Essay of the study project "Medien/Geschichte"[Media/History], Bauhaus University Weimar.



Visuelle Stilistik des Film Noir in "The Big Sleep"
[Visual Style of Film Noir in "The Big Sleep"]

"The Big Sleep" - often named as epitome for the style of the black series - is examined and explored in this essay concerning the stability of this argument. Visual style of the phenomenon Film Noir is discussed and questioned. Final Essay to the course "Film Noir", Bauhaus University Weimar.


Von der Karte als Kulturtechnik and ihrer Rolle als Medium der Kultur
[On the Map as Cultural Technique and Medium]

This work attempts to outline how cartography can be read not only as mapping space but also as mapping culture. An examplary case is shown in the cartography of the new world.Result of the course "Instrumente, Geschichte, Medien"[Instruments, Media, History], Bauhaus University Weimar.



Die antike Tragödie als politisches und pädagogisches Medium
[The Ancient Tragedies as Medium of Political Education]
Final essay to the introduction project of the program of Media Culture. The main approach is to explore how possibly the ancient tragedy heavily contributed to the political education in ancient Greece by the means of the time-spatial framework within it was performed.


Markt und Marke - gestern und heute
[Market and Brand - reloaded]

Result of the course "Theory of Brands". The essay deals with the understanding of market in brand in context of neoclassical econimic theory and attempts to reconfigure the notions' position in the field of the new institionional economics.
